Dreaming of home

life is a movie Sankaracharya 2005

So soon to be a child no more

wide-eyed and excited

going to war

believing it a game

a game of screens, buttons and controllers

points and powerups

seeing a child crash and burn

remembering the child within

hopes dashed

dreams crashed

returning home

returning home where home is no more

So soon to

be a child no more

dreaming of home

The controllers know what it is though and still send them to the slaughter.

  2. Such an important topic. The more I read this poem the more I like it. The rhyming is so subtle and natural that I didn’t even notice it the first time round. That’s a skill!
