Sun-searching

Sky is still shedding tears

because

she cannot let go of old love

that loved and then spurned her

over and over

in circles and cyclones

heaves and sighs

boats rocked

trees felled

houses toppled

lives lost

cars smashed

Sky is still shedding tears

because

she cannot get let go of old love

that loved and then spurned her.

Hanging on, holding on, clinging on

Be gray, gloomy, and bitter. but

I am leaving

looking for sun

on the North Coast

I want no part of this clinging, self-indulgent sky.
