Today’s quota

This morning started free like

a day in the country with

a walk to greet the sun over the Pacific ocean

and a creek full of water

blue woods and the kookaburra laughing

in the old elm tree

looking for koalas that may cross the highway

coaxing horses to give us rides

Playing with doggies and kitties

yes, the day started

slow and free like a day in the country

but ended like a day in the city

harried and guilty that

I hadn’t met my daily quota  of poetry.

So here is prose pretending to be free verse.
